On the subject of working mothers.... I never even considered that I would ever be one. But I am coming to the point where I am more than seriously considering it. Sometimes I feel like a sinner just for thinking it. Is that rediculous? Of course I want to stay home with my baby (ies). But I do not think it is fair to expect Kyle to go to school full time and be the sole provider for our family. We have at least 3 and a half years of school left if he goes full time, all the time. But if he is going to be working.... and working hard...simultaneously, shouldn't I give him a break and let him focus on getting his education? But I do not want to leave Adney. He needs his mommy. And lets face it, he is my number one priority in my life at this point. In 20 years I will not look back on my life and say... Gee...I am glad I put my kid in Day care and let other people raise him. But I guess it would only be for a couple years.... but then again they are a couple very important years.
I need a miracle. Maybe I could work from home, which is looking like the only option that I will be comfortable with... but doing what? I am praying that I will be able to find that perfect opportunity. Any ideas, suggestions, or perspective?

maybe even check on Craiglist or other sites for opportunities that say you can specifically work from home. I'm not much of a scrapbooker, but if you are, some companies help stay at home mom's by letting them sell stuff and pay them for scrapbooking and stuff. not really sure how it works though.
There are a lot of people I know that work from home. There's Pampered Chef, Mary Kay, Creative Memories(Scrapbooking), Toys, and I'm sure there are even more than that. You could always start an at home day care and watch a couple kids a week at your own home or find one of your favorite talents (for ex..piano) and give lessons or teach it. Those are a couple options for you. Hope all works out how you want it too though. Let me know if you need anything!
Ok so I am going to list off all the things I have thought about doing. So here it is. Maybe look into working at a daycare - Where you can take Adney to work with you. That is what I did with Jonah. But then again he was 2. Or maybe try doing a preschool program from your apt. where it is only a few hours a day. Or an after school program where you watch kids until mom and dad are done with work. Anybody need an over night sitter? Maybe call Jake Bruun and see about trying to do what Krystal did. Or see if there is a sleep clinic around you somewhere. Mary Dobson used to work nights at a clinic. Maybe cleaning houses where you cram it all into a few days a week. Or maybe part time out of the house and something like pampered chef on the weekend. Sorry you are in this spot. I HAVE been there. Don't feel guilty for having to make ends meet though. TONS of women do it. And my personal opinion is that part-time daycare really is good for a child once they hit like 2. Time away from mommy isn't all bad as long as they are with good people. Maybe find another lady in the same position and watch each others kids while working part time. Ok sorry about the book. Love you girl.
This is such a tough decision butyou are no sinner for considering working outside of the home-- it's not like you plan on being away from your child and husband to work for the rest of your life-- this is a tough spot for a lot of families who are still in school. I think the Lord wants us to work hard and do all we can to support ourselves even if that means Mom has to work a few hours a day to help out.
The most important job you have is with Adney and future babies, but if there's a way you can work nights when Kyle is home, or where you are only away from Adney for a few hours a day or a couple days a week, I personally see nothing wrong with that. I just want you to know that you will be supported whatever you choose to do!
Honestly, selling something like Mary Kay is a great option if you are into that sort of thing (and trust me I've done a lot of research lately and I know I sell for a different company so you should REALLY believe me, haha, Mary Kay is by far the most rewarding financially and the easiest to earn with...)
I'm sorry I don't have more helpful ideas, though.
Good luck!
Hey! Adney is such a cutie! I babysit a little girl during the day, and I love it! I only watch her 3 hours a day, so it's only about $65 a week, but they bring her to my house! It is so perfect! She is just a month older than Jax, and they just love eachother. I've also thought about being a Scentsy consultant, but I'm not sure I have the personality. I totally understand what your going through, and if you find something wonderful fill me in.
